Edward Silcock Snr founded Silcock's Travelling Fairs which travelled the North of England entertaining the general public

All four sons of Edward Silcock Snr (Lawrence, Edward, Herbert and Arthur) went into the same business of their father.

In the late 1950's, Edward Snr's Grandson, Herbert Silcock and his wife Jane Silcock, established themselves with rides at Southport Fairground.
